QUEENSLAND BRIDGES

AUSTRALIAN, BRIDGE / PIER, SUPER WIDE PLANK
Timber bridges across Queensland were made of old-growth ironbark strong enough to support rail and ‘road trains’ as they crossed rivers and floodplains.

Beautiful color differences from steel that has seeped into the timber over a century are highlighted by natural stains and oils.

INSPIRATION

Hundreds of timber bridges supported the arterial roads carrying people and goods through New South Wales and across Queensland.

The flooring has natural dark spots from the seepage of hundred year old steel bolts, a stunning look only acquired with age.
